Mr. Gonzalez was born and raised in the City of Springfield is a proud graduate of Springfield Public Schools. He currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies from Cambridge College. He is also a member of the Springfield School Committee. With him he carries a burning passion to see transformation in the lives of young people in our community, city and region.

NNCC Youth Services Center
Programs
Gun Violence Prevention Unit
This multi-agency collaborative effort is funded through DPH’s GVP Grant. NNCC serves as the lead agency to the , MLK Family Services, African Diaspora Mental Health Association (ADMHA) and Public Health Institute of Western Mass. The team is comprised of Street Outreach Workers, clinical support, working with at-risk youth ages 17-24.
NNCC Youth Center
The NNCC Youth Center services ALL youth ages 11-18 at the Gerena Tunnel. Providing services such as: Homework assistance, weekly raffles, sports and active recreation, positive skill building and leadership development (Ask about our NNCC Youth Council!) Funded through CSI Shannon Grant, DPH’s Youth at Risk Grant (YARG), and the City of Springfield’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Connecticut River Valley YouthBuild (CRV YB)
CRV YouthBuild serves youth in the Connectivut River Valley region while based in Springfield the metro center of Western Massachusetts. CRV YouthBuild became an affiliate of YouthBuild USA and recognized program of the Massachusetts YouthBuild Coalition securing funding to commence programing for out of school youth to complete High School Diploma equivalency and pursue either a focus in Construction or CRV YB’s Construction Plus track which has a focus in the health care industry. Some of the program outcomes are significant educational gains and industry recognized certificates upon completion.
Project AMP
NNCC’s Peer to Peer Mentor aims to serve in school youth ages 13-17 with prevention based curriculum.
Summer in The City
Summer in The City is a 6-week summer camp serving ages 5-12, engaging in the following activities: swimming, weekly field trips, themed days and an end of camp talent show. Funded through Springfield’s Community Development Block Grant.
Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act
Our WIOA In-School Youth program supports in school youth with workforce oppurtunities, summer jobs and after school jobs. Ensuring they graduate from High School and have continued success through a 12 month period of follow up.
Mental Health Counseling
Our full time Mental Health Counselor works directly with our YouthBuild students to provide a holistic approach to supporting the entire young person.
