If you have recently experience incarceration and are serious about your substance abuse recovery, we encourage you to come in and meet with our Care Coordinators. Together we can create a pathway to a better life. If you are looking to get off to a good start and meet with individuals who have experienced what you are going through then New Life /Nueva Vida program is the place for you.
New Life / Nueva Vida is a BSAS funded Re-entry launched in July 2021. The program is a partnership with the Sheriff’s department dedicated to supporting Black and Latino men, ages 18 and older, who are currently incarcerated or have a history of incarceration and substance use disorders. Program care coordinators are imbedded in the correctional system where they are able to initiate pre-release engagement and care coordination planning to support participants upon release. The care coordinates provide individual care planning to walk alongside each participant on their journey toward recovery and successful reintegration into the community.
Upon release, participants can access a wide range of services, including SUD recovery supports, vocational training and employment assistance, educational advancement, family supports, and more.
At New Life/Nueva Vida, we recognize there are many paths to healing, and recovery and the program is committed to providing a space for self-autonomy, enhancing quality of life and building recovery capital. In partnership with our community partners, allies and advocates, the center hosts a number of special activities and community presentations to strengthen individual, family, and community systems.
