 SUMMARY: This Skills Builders Family Based Services (FBS) case manager will oversee and adhere to the general guidelines of the Skill Builder program and support the service plan of the cases assigned appropriately. Will serve as the person for the cases they have assigned to them. This caseworker will assist in providing support to their cases as needed. Ensuring the operation of this program via its guidelines. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Provide intensive outreach home-based services: 

 Improve service access for families at high risk for child abuse/neglect: 

 Able to initiate, make decisions, identify & implement solutions, completes reports and required documentation in an appropriately, effectively and timely manner including providing transportation for those families whose lack of transportation is well documented: 

 Able to oversee and develop program and staff via regularly scheduled meetings to insure team approach: 

 Knowledge of the Virtual Gateway process & procedures 

 Takes appropriate actions to help define and meet the agency’s goals: 

 Demonstrates good listening skills by paying attention to and demonstrating understanding of the comments and questions of others: 

 Participates in agency projects: 

 Will provide monthly written reports as instructed via deadlines as needed: 

 Is adaptable, willing to work extra hours on occasion to help meet the agency’s goals and commitments: 

 Shows awareness of and respect for multicultural, ethnic, race and gender diversity among all individuals involved in the Agency including recipients of services, residents, staff, other agencies, etc.:

 SUMMARY: The Assistant to Fiscal Director will provide the financial account receivables oversight of the agency and all of the programs, as well as projected budgets, and ensuring Account Receivables are complete in a timely manner as assigned by the Fiscal Director. He/She will keep the Fiscal Director informed of all Account Receivables issues and concerns. He/She will perform HR related duties as necessary and as assigned by Supervisor or Executive Director. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Will assist the Fiscal Director in preparing assorted monthly program Account Receivables, budget reports, and other documentation as needed for all Program Directors: 

 Knowledgeable in computers and their programs i.e.: Windows, Excel, Peachtree, Internet usage, etc. 

 Able to initiate, make decisions, identify & implement solutions to Financial questions and problems in an appropriate and effective manner: 

 Bi-weekly ADP payroll processing and provide training when applicable: 

 Actively assists supervisors with their program budgets effectively: 

 Complete reports and required documentation in an appropriately, effectively and timely manner, including disbursement accounts and the issuing of checks as instructed: 

 Disseminates financial information to third parties i.e.: Banks, Housing, assorted Vendors/Contacts, etc. 

 Takes appropriate actions to help define and meet the agency’s financial goals: 

 Arranges work logically and effectively, allocating sufficient time: 

 Demonstrates good listening skills by paying attention to and demonstrating understanding of the comments and questions of others: 

 Handling and ensuring daily mail is distributed accordantly 

 Is adaptable, willing to work extra hours on occasion,

 SUMMARY: He/She will operate under the Department of Developmental Services Family Support Guidelines, and the Guiding Principles of the Family Support System. The Family Support Navigator Assistant will be responsible for the provision of the following services to families referred and identified. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Broad knowledge about developmental disabilities. 

 Knowledgeable in computers and their programs i.e.: Windows, Internet usage, etc. 

 Provide comprehensive Information and Referral Services to all families and individuals seeking such assistance. 

 Seek out and maintain current information on resources and services available to families. 

 Work with assigned families to identify strengths, competencies, needs and resources. 

 Develop a Family Support plan, which respects, supports and honors personal preferences and cultural and linguistic values of the families and individuals served. 

 Provide Short- Term and Long -Term Service Navigation to identified families. 

 Maintain confidential records for all activities, including Family Navigation statistical data, and management of flexible funding. 

 Responsible for organizing and running support groups, training and activities for families served by the Disability Services Program. The ability to work independently, set priorities, be flexible and creative, while working as part of a team.

YouthBuild Academic Instructor

SUMMARY:  Under supervision of the YouthBuild Program Manager, the YouthBuild Academic Instructor will perform Academic instruction of young adults (17-24 years old) in mathematics, science, social studies, reading, and writing in preparation for taking the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) and post-secondary education.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and apply principles, methods, procedures, and strategies utilized in the development of a comprehensive program designed to maintain student interest,
  • Planning and implementing lesson appropriate field trips, and choosing books, supplies, and material to be used in the classroom setting.
  • Integration of workforce development/preparedness and specific vocational material (construction and healthcare) material into academic lessons.
  • Development and implementation of remote learning, virtual lessons, and virtual policies and procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Development of specific academic lessons and plans for individual students to ensure academic success.
  • Transportation of students to/from: HiSET testing facilities, field trips, community engagement and community service events, vocational training, and YouthBuild specific program events.
  • Participation with students in vocational trainings, community service, and other in-program events such as graduations, holiday parties, etc.
  • Developing strong relationships with students to assist in both academic and personal issues that arose in their lives.
  • Maintaining a cohesive program environment to ensure continued and enthusiastic participation of students
  • Attendance participation in academic, workforce development and YouthBuild specific trainings and conferences, in-person and virtually.
  • Participation in employee meetings to discuss student progress, develop, implement, and amend program policies, and plan events such as community service opportunities, program events, etc.

Proficient in a wide range of computer systems and programs including Microsoft word, excel, and PowerPoint; as well as google and Mac equivalents. Experience with virtual conferencing (both Zoom and Google meets)

The Bi-lingual Lead Family Navigator will be responsible for the provision of the following services to families identified and referred by the Department of Developmental Services.

 Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and Bi-Cultural required. 

 Work with assigned families to identify strengths, competencies, needs, and resources. 

 Provide comprehensive Information and Referral Services to all families and individuals seeking such assistance. 

 Working within the parameters of the DDS Family Support Guidelines and in collaboration with DDS Service coordinators, administer flexible funding supports to identified families. 

 Develop a Family Action plan, which respects, supports and honors personal preferences and cultural and linguistic values of the families and individuals served. 

 Follow up with families to be sure that connections have occurred, and assist with resolving problems, which may have arisen. 

 Knowledgeable in computers and their programs i.e.: Windows, Excel, Internet usage, etc. 

 Organize relevant family trainings, support groups, and networking opportunities. 

 Maintain confidential records for all activities, including Family Navigation statistical data, and management of flexible funding. 

 Working knowledge of available area public benefits, entitlements, community service system, and generic resources. 

 The ability to work independently, set priorities, be flexible, and creative, while working as part of a team. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Have direct experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities & training in Positive Behavioral Support Interventions and ABA Therapeutic Interventions.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma/GED or 2 years of experience in the Human services field, including experience working with families with children and/or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and Bi-Cultural preferred.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

 REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MENTAL/VISUAL DEMANDS:

 Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.  Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Eye-hand coordination required less than 15% of the time.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
